Whether you do it from home, or commute everyday- working and mumming is so bloody hard. ... Continue reading →

Postcard perfect in all directions. Had an adventurous day- went swimming at the Blue Hole, then followed it up with an afternoon over at Mystic Mountain- ziplining, bobsledding and a much needed lunch of jerk chicken and plantain. P.S bird not photoshopped 😆
Jamaica is lovely, but missing my little peanut buttercup! Have to say though, she is having a great time with her grandmother. And she only cried when she saw Robin over FaceTime, so CLEARLY missing me very much too 🤣
We arrived here yesterday evening as the sun went down- so waking up to this was a lovely bonus! I am very much here for the heat (and little humidity!) but have had to refrain from FaceTiming my Mum and Ava every hour (she’s having way too much fun hanging out with her Nama) Trying to ‘relax’ and enjoy eating meals without juggling a cheeky baby and for the first time in MONTHS I’ve been able to pick up a book to read! Almost as amazing as sleeping in uninterrupted 🤣
Her favourite toy- the Fisher Price records, any will do but it helps if they’re blue. We’re all knackered after a walk through the Village, a pub lunch and a trip to the Spar because their bakery section is the absolute best! We checked in on the ducklings in the park and she called them all “Cat!” so I suppose all animals are just cats from now on. Went to the tiniest funfair too but she was still too small even for the baby rides 😭And now, post bed time I’m about to stick a shepherd’s pie and an apple crumble into the oven. PHEW. Bloody love Saturdays.
Travelling amps up my anxiety and with a week to go before we head to Jamaica, I’m trying to stay calm and level headed. It’ll be the longest I’ve ever been away from Ava (my mum is staying the week at our house) I never used to get over anxious when it came to flying but hey you have one panic attack at Stansted and airports are forever tainted! Focusing on the destination and not the what, ifs and buts 👏🏼
P.S if there’s one piece of baby kit I’d recommend it’s the Doona! It’s a car seat with wheels that you can flip up and down. It even fits on an aeroplane. Use it more than our actual buggy! (We get asked about it every time we’re out)
A bit of reality. Fireman Sam, colourful plastic toys strewn everywhere, a forgotten mug of tea, Ava shouting “CAT” on repeat and the wonky living room floor. 🤷🏻♀️Bring on nap time!
In today’s addition to the shelves, more Robin repellent decor- little mice tea light holders from @grahamandgreen that I’m using as bookends at the moment. Also obsessed with collecting the little black Penguin books (they’re around 80p-£1 each) Lewis Carroll’s “O frabjous day!” is my favourite one so far. Four more shelves to fill! 🤔
